Cycle to work

To promote healthier journeys to work and to reduce environmental pollution, the 1999 Finance Act introduced an annual tax exemption, which allows employers to loan cycles and cyclists' safety equipment to employees as a tax-free benefit. The exemption was one of a series of measures introduced under the Government's Green Transport Plan. There is no upper limit on the bike you can buy & you can spend this on any bike including electric, that you will use to get to work.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

All schemes are operated slightly differently, some will allow you to take the bike straight away and some might take a few days but your bike will be built by our mechanic and ready to ride as soon as possible! If we are shipping the bike to you, then you will need to straighten the handlebars and fit the pedals as we cannot ship with these attached.

AT THE END OF THE HIRE PERIOD, YOU CAN CHOOSE ONE OF 3 OPTIONS:

  • Return the bike to the cycle to work partner
  • Pay to take full ownership
  • Take out an interest bearing extended use agreement then pay nothing for a further 3 years.

The most popular option is too keep the bike!
